The Kogi State House of Assembly, has confirmed the appointment of Hon. Folorunsho Ajayi, as the Executive Director of the Kogi State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.
The confirmation was made during plenary following the consideration of his nomination by the State Government. The lawmakers unanimously endorsed Ajayi’s appointment, describing him as a competent and experienced individual capable of delivering on the responsibilities of the office.
During the debate, the member representing Kabba/Bunu State Constituency, Hon. Oluwaseyi Bello, spoke in support of the nominee, recalling Ajayi’s contributions and support to him before and after his election.
He described Ajayi as a good man who had consistently served the people to the best of his ability, adding that his appointment was a recognition of his efforts and commitment to public service.

Other lawmakers also expressed support for the nomination, urging Ajayi to take a bow and leave the chamber. They commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for finding him worthy of the appointment and entrusting him with the responsibility of serving the people in the new capacity.
The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, charged the new Executive Director to justify the confidence reposed in him by the government and the people of the state.
The Speaker also reminded Ajayi that the office comes with a defined tenure and urged him to make meaningful contributions within the period of his service.
Responding, the newly confirmed Executive Director, Hon. Folorunsho Ajayi, expressed appreciation to Governor Ododo for giving him the opportunity to serve the state and contribute his experience to its development.
Ajayi pledged to work toward excellence and assured the lawmakers of his commitment to the effective discharge of his responsibilities.
He said he would strive to justify the confidence placed in him and contribute positively to the development of Kogi State.
The confirmation represents another step in the state’s efforts to strengthen the administration and development of its oil-producing areas.
