•Pledges not to abandon community

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has assured the family of late Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Hon. Solomon Oyewale and the entire Aduge community in Ijumu Local Government Area, that his government would not not turn it’s back on them, promising to address developmental projects in the community.
Governor Ododo disclosed this when he led some top government officials on a ccondolence visit to the family of the late APC chairman and the palace of the traditional ruler of Aduge Community, Oba Johnson Babatunde in Ijumu Local Government Area recently.

He described the late Hon. Solomon Oyewale as a true party man who meant well for his community and as such, his government would not abandon the community and what he stood for.
The Governor explained that he was away from the State when the sad news of Solomon’s death reached him, which made it impossible for him to be physically present at the initial condolence visit however, he said he sent his Deputy, Elder Joe Oyibo, to represent him during the burial.
He described the demise of the APC chairman as a big loss not only to his family and Aduge Community, but to the APC party and the entire Kogi State; just as he pointed out that the deceased was not only a committed party man but also a personal friend and brother with whom he shared a cordial relationship.
Governor Ododo further assured the family of the deceased that neither he nor the government would abandon them at their difficult moment. He disclosed that the State Government had resolved to take responsibility for the education of the children left behind by the late APC chairman.
Earlier during his visit to the palace of the Olu of Aduge, HRH, Oba Johnson Babatunde, the Governor also assured the traditional ruler and people of the community that his administration would not turn its back on the the critical need of communit and urged them to remain united and peaceful.
Responding to appeals from the community’s youth leader for greater government attention and appointments, Governor Ododo appreciated the people for their support and urged the youths and women to resist acts capable of causing crisis, emphasing that the best way to honour the late Solomon was to preserve the peace and unity for which he stood for.
The Governor prayed God for the repose of his soul as well as give the family and people of Aduge the strength to bear the loss, assuring the community that the government would continue to stand with them and work for their development.
Speaking , the father of the deceased, Mr Albert Oyewole thanked the Governor and his entourage for the visit.
