Adamawa Police review security operations ahead of Ember months, elections

The Adamawa State Police Command, has held a strategic review meeting to assess security operations and strengthen arrangements ahead of the ember months and the forthcoming electioneering period.

The meeting, convened by the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Hassan, brought together the Senior Management Team, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, Heads of Departments and other senior officers.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman  Nguroje, the CP said the meeting focused on emerging security trends, operational effectiveness, and measures to sustain peace across the state.

CP Hassan commended officers for their dedication in maintaining security within their areas of responsibility and charged them to remain professional, proactive and responsive to public safety needs.

While outlining four key directives for the the officers, DPOs he said, are to be accessible and responsive to members of the public. Official telephone numbers must be prominently displayed at divisional headquarters and other public places to encourage prompt reporting of security concerns.

The Command, he added will intensify engagement with stakeholders and youth groups. CP Hassan stressed that the Nigeria Police Force remains strictly apolitical and will provide a level playing field for all political actors while ensuring public order and the protection of citizens throughout the electoral process.

Area Commanders and DPOs he added, are to collaborate with traffic agencies to enforce rules against reckless driving, overloading and road obstruction and motorists were warned to exercise caution and obey all traffic regulations.

The Command, he noted  will strengthen patrols, intelligence-led operations and visibility policing at strategic locations including highways, markets, worship centres, recreational areas and other public places.

The Command called on residents to remain vigilant and support the police by providing timely and credible information on suspicious persons and activities.
