NERC inaugurates KAEDCO Interim Board, visits Military Formations in Kaduna

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has inaugurated the newly Interim Board of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCo), pursuant to the Commission’s Intervention Order, issued recently.

 

It could be recalled that according to NERC Order No. NERC/2026/08, dissolved the Board of Directors of KAEDC, following repeated failures to meet market obligations and other prescribed performance indices.

The Commission subsequently constituted a five-member Interim Board of Special Directors, chaired by Dr. Abdullahi Garba, for an initial period of one year, alongside an Interim Administrator, Abubakar Hashidu, appointed for an initial six-month period, to drive the reset of the distribution company.

Shortly after the inauguration, a joint delegation of NERC, the newly inaugurated board, KAEDC’s management and staff paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters, One Division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna.

The delegation were received by the General Officer Commanding, 1 Division, Nigerian Army and some senior officers of the Division.

The delegation also went to Nigeria Defence Academy in Kaduna, where they were received by the Commandant and principal officers of the Academy for collaboration.
