The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing his victory as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by the people of the state.
In a statement issued by the NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the forum said Adeleke’s achievements and personal appeal contributed significantly to his success in the keenly contested governorship election.
The governors also commended the people of Osun State for their impressive turnout, saying the level of participation demonstrated the continued resilience of Nigeria’s democracy.
“The interest that the off-cycle ballot generated again confirms the resilience of the Nigerian democracy,” the NGF said.
The forum equally acknowledged the contributions of opposition parties and candidates to the electoral process, stressing that their participation remained vital to the growth and strengthening of democracy.
It further commended the security agencies for containing the incidents of violence recorded in the days leading to the election and for providing a relatively secure environment for voters to exercise their franchise.
The NGF also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for what it described as a statesmanlike approach to the election, particularly in balancing his responsibilities as leader of the ruling party with his role as President and father of the nation.
The governors expressed confidence that Adeleke would use his second term to consolidate the achievements of his administration and further advance the development of Osun State.
“We are confident that HE Ademola Adeleke, will continue to build on the successes of his first term in the overall interest of the people of Osun State,” the NGF chairman said.
The forum wished the governor a successful second term in office and urged all stakeholders to continue supporting efforts aimed at promoting peace, good governance and development in the state.
