The 26th Age Group of Ogori has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on its chairman, Mr. Friday Moses, in a meeting that drew members from across home and diaspora.
The gathering, held over the weekend in Ogori, Kogi State, turned into both a celebration of progress and a reaffirmation of trust in the leadership steering the group’s affairs.
Opening the session, a member of the Age Group, Mr. James Oyewole, described Mr. Moses as a visionary and committed leader who has done so much to project the group in positive light.
Oyewole has maintained that through the chairman’s relentless efforts, the group has maintained a frontline position in the community, adding that he is a leader that is not self-seeking.
Members had in the separate remarks, noted that within a short period, the chairman and his team moved to restore unity, improve communication, and set clear priorities that reflected the needs of the age grade both at home and abroad.

In a series of goodwill messages, members praised Mr. Moses for what they described as “quality leadership and commitment” with several speakers pointing to his open-door approach, regular updates, and willingness to personally follow up on welfare matters.
One elder of the group said the chairman had managed to bridge gaps between the age grade and other age grades in the community ensuring that decisions were not made in isolation but in tandem with the interest of the larger community.
The vote of confidence was not just symbolic as members highlighted tangible results under Mr. Moses’ leadership.
These include the successful production and distribution of educational materials to schools in Ogori even as they also commended the transparency in financial reporting, noting that it had rebuilt trust and encouraged more people to participate.
Beyond administration, the chairman was recognised for his role in community service, noting that under his watch, the 26th Age Group has taken part in sanitation exercises, youth mentorship programmes, and support initiatives for widows as other less privileges individuals in Ogori.
Members said this outward focus has improved the group’s image and reminded the public that age grades remain a pillar of communal development.
In his response, Mr. Friday Moses expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in him and his executive and dedicated the vote of confidence to all members, saying leadership is only as strong as the people behind it.
He pledged to do more in the areas of education support, entrepreneurship for members, and stronger collaboration with other age groups and the Ogori community leadership.
The meeting ended with prayers for peace, progress, and unity within Ogori with members resolving to back the executive fully as it works toward sustaining the positive image already built.
