Tragedy as over 25 Nigerians died in a boat mishap in Cameroon water territory

Over 25 Nigerians have been confirmed dead and others still searching in a boat mishap  within the water territory of Republic of Cameroon.

The boat tragedy which is said took off from Garoua state of Cameroun heading to Yola Adamawa state Nigeria when the incident happened.

According to reports, the boat  conveyed over 50 on board was over loaded with iron tools and scanvenged items with its destination to Dasin, Fufore local government of Adamawa state .

Sources within the boarder Nigerian waters, confirmed that the boat took off late Monday night despite repeated advice by the owner to suspend the journey to the following morning, but the driver and few passengers gave deaf ears.

According to an expert, the accident which occoured as a result of waves of water through the front of the boat was unavoidable as it happened at mid night. The boat, ran into it and capsized killing more than 25 person’s on board.

Source confirmed that, the distance between Nigeria and Camerounian boarder is over 146 kilometers where the accident took place.

Communities around the river bank, said so far 19 bodies have been recovered and have been laid to rest in Wuro Bokki, Fufore local government area of Adamawa state. As the search of the remaining victims are still undergoing.

One of the sources, revealed that, continuous search is ongoing by local divers from Nigeria and Cameroun, for more victims even as some of the survivors are in recognized medical centres in the boarder villages.
