Kogi State Chairman of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Ismaila Isah, has charged members of the Ministry of Information Chapel of the Kogi State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, to be vanguards of the institute in the state.
Ismaila Isah who doubles as the Special Adviser on Media to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, made the call during an interactive session with the Executive members of the information chapel, held at the conference hall of the state ministry of education, Lokoja on Wednesday.
The institute chairman said it is mandatory for all the state public Relations Officers in the state to be registered members of the institute. He urged the executive members to ensure that all the members of the chapel are fully registered to give legitimacy to their official functions.
Isah further declared that the national body of the institute has already commenced the process of ensuring that all information officers in the country are also registered as public relations officers noting that Kogi State cannot afford to be left behind.

He appealed to the executive members to ensure that her members take proactive action in ensuring that members are fully registered in the next induction process coming up in September and November respectively. He urged them to always cooperate with the state chapter to move the state chapter of the Institute forward.
In his response, the chairman of the state information chapel, Solomon Musa, thanked the state chairman of NIPR, Ismaila Isah for the advocacy visit. He assured the state NIPR Chairman of the chapel’s cooperation.
Musa noted that prior to the advocacy visit the chapel has sensitized her members on the need to register with the institute. He assured that all the members of the chapel will register with the institute.
Part of the advocacy visit was the induction of the Commissioner of Education, Elder Wemi Ojo Jones into the state chapter of NIPR.
