The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of The Graphic Newspaper, Mr. Yusuf Itopa, has led a delegation of management staff on a courtesy visit to the office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Mr David Awulu, to appreciate support received and appeal for enhanced funding.

The MD/CEO formally thanked the Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, for creating a conducive environment that has enabled The Graphic Newspaper to thrive. He also expressed gratitude to the Permanent Secretary for his recent visit to the newspaper corporation.
While appreciating the existing support, the MD/CEO appealed to the ministry to increase the funding allocation to the corporation to improve its output and overall performance. He highlighted the pivotal role of The Graphic Newspaper as a credible source of information on Kogi State.

“In recent years, The Graphic Newspaper has become the place where correspondents from other newspaper agencies run to for genuine and tangible news about Kogi State. They are often directed to our corporation for authentic information to write their articles.” The MD/CEO added.
In response, the Permanent Secretary thanked the MD/CEO and the entire delegation from The Graphic Newspaper for the visit. He assured them of his reachability and continuous support for the corporation.
Describing the Graphic Newspaper as “a very important tool for the government,” the Permanent Secretary noted that it serves as an official record keeper that future generations and officials can always refer to for accurate information.
“We have to oil it to maintain the standard, and to maintain standards you need money,” he said. “Even as elections are around the corner, we need more funding to elevate our publications.”
The Permanent Secretary promised to convey the corporation’s request to the Commissioner, describing Hon. Kingsley Fanwo as a listening and exceptional leader.
“The Commissioner is a listening leader and they will do their best to make things work for the corporation,” he added.
The Marketing Manager of The Graphic Newspaper, Mrs. Bolanle Inubiwon, appreciated the Permanent Secretary and his staff for the warm reception and productive engagement.
The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both parties expressing optimism for stronger collaboration and improved support for the state-owned newspaper.
