From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin
Legal education at Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University (MKU), Ilorin received a major boost after the Kuliyan-Gari of Ilorin Emirate, Professor Yusuf Olaolu Ali (SAN), donated law textbooks worth several million naira.

The donation, aimed at supporting the university’s preparation to start its Law programme, was formally presented on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Ghalib Chambers in Ilorin.
Speaking during the presentation, Professor Ali, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said the gesture reflects his commitment to quality education and to supporting institutions training future legal professionals.

“Education remains one of the strongest pillars of national development,” he said. “Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University has the vision and capacity to nurture competent legal practitioners who will positively impact society.”
Receiving the books on behalf of the university, Vice-Chancellor Professor Rasheed Gbenga Jimoh, FNCS, described the donation as a significant intervention that will strengthen efforts to establish a standard Faculty of Law.
“The donated textbooks will enrich the university library and provide needed academic support for both students and lecturers ahead of the take-off of the Law programme,” Professor Jimoh said.
He added that the university remains committed to promoting the enduring legacies of its founder, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Kamaldeen Habeebullah Musa Al-Adaby. The gesture, he noted, shows Professor Ali’s deep respect for the late scholar and his willingness to support the university’s objectives.
Professor Jimoh expressed appreciation on behalf of the Governing Council, management, staff, students, and the entire university community. He offered prayers for Allah’s continued blessings, good health, and greater accomplishments for the donor.
The donation reflects the growing support MKU is receiving from distinguished stakeholders who share its vision of academic excellence, innovation, and service to humanity.
