Kwara ALGON Chairmen rally behind Danladi as APC Governorship Candidate

The 16 Local Government Council Chairmen in Kwara State, have unanimously declared support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Salihu Danladi, ahead of the state’s next governorship election.

The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued recently at the end of an expanded meeting of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kwara State chapter, at the ALGON Secretariat Ilorin.

The chairmen said their decision followed extensive deliberations on issues affecting local government administration and the future development of the state.

According to the communiqué, they unanimously agreed to support Danladi, who currently serves as Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly.

They also reaffirmed their confidence in the leadership of the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, describing his administration as progressive and people-oriented since 2019.

The local government leaders said the public declaration was aimed at addressing speculations, strengthening unity within the APC, and reducing political tension in the state.

The chairmen expressed confidence in Danladi’s capacity to sustain and expand the achievements of the present administration, noting that his experience as Speaker has prepared him for higher responsibility.

They further pledged to mobilise support for the APC candidate within the ambit of the law and democratic process.

The communiqué was jointly signed by the executive chairmen of the 16 local government areas of the state.

The chairmen also commended Governor AbdulRazaq for what they described as exemplary leadership and sustained commitment to the welfare of the people of Kwara State.
