2025/2026: MAU matriculates 8,591 undergraduates in Adamawa

‎The Modibbo Adama University (MAU) Yola, Adamawa State, has matriculated 8,591 undergraduates and postgraduates students in various programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

‎In his speech, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ibrahim Umar, while congratulating the matriculating students, urged them to remember that they are in the institution for a purpose.

‎”As you begin this journey, you have not just gained admission into a university; you’re embracing responsibility, committing yourselves to academic excellence, discipline, integrity and the pursuit of knowledge”.

He warned that, ‎the University maintained zero tolerance for examination malpractice, cultism, drug abuse and all forms of social vices as any student found wanting will face strick disciplinary action.

‎The VC revealed that, “in this admission year we have 132 International students admitted into various postgraduates and we are fully committed to maintaining high standards of academic excellence and discipline”.

‎While sharing the remarkable progress made by the University, he maintained that the University has expanded academically with additional three new faculties; Faculty of Communication and Mass Media Studies, Faculty of Computing as well as Faculty of Arts.

‎On infrastructure, he said, “our most significant achievement is the provision of steady and reliable power supply across the campus, as the University is now enjoying 24 hours solar powered electricity, enhancing both learning and research activities.

‎”Even more encouraging is the fact that additional hostel projects are already planned for the next academic session, as we continue to match our growth with adequate facilities”.

‎Professor Ibrahim Umar acknowledged that the initial challenges some of the students may have faced is in the area of accommodation. And added that, though, “we are not unmindful of these inconveniences, proactive steps have already been taken to address them”.

He wished the matriculating students a successful and fulfilling academic journey, even as he advice them that their  time in the University should be marked by excellence, growth, meaningful achievements and relevant relationships.
