Barely few months to 2027 general election, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamawa state chapter, received Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Galadima, who has declared to contest for the governorship seat in the State.
Galadima made his declaration in Yola the state capital and was received by a party supporters, loyalists, and well-wishers who joined his entourage.
Addressing his supporters, he highlighted his decision to join the race, following the call by the people, even as he assured them of his vision and commitment to serve the state irrespective of politics.
His words, “The people have called me, and I have answered. This is not just about politics, but about the future of our state, the empowerment of our youth, and restoring hope in governance”.
Galadima expressed appreciation to the people of Adamawa State, for their support and confidence, describing their support across communities as a reflection of a collective desire for purposeful leadership and positive change.
He accordingly, noted that, the movement is driven by unity and a shared aspiration to build a more inclusive, fair, and people-oriented system of governance.
As part of activities marking his declaration, Galadima is expected to commission an ultra-modern campaign office in Yola, aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization and enhancing political engagement across the state.
The occasion attracted well known stakeholders, party executives, youth, women groups, and community leaders, signaling what observers describe as an early build-up to the 2027 governorship race.
He emphasised his commitment to delivering a stronger and more prosperous Adamawa, noting that the journey to 2027 is “a mission powered by the people.”
Speaking earlier at the event, a former Chief of Staff to the Adamawa State Government, Professor Maxwell Gidado, expressed confidence in Galadima’s candidacy, stating that the Southern Zone fully supports his ambition.
Also Ambassador Calvin Peter, said, the turnout was a clear indication that Galadima’s mission is a widespread support towards 2027 election.
On his part, a member representing Yola North, Yola South, and Girei Federal Constituency, Abubakar Zango, pointed out that, since the creation of Nigeria, the Adamawa Central Zone has not produced an elected governor of the state.
He called for the support of Galadima’s race in forthcoming election and describing his ambition as timely and deserving.
