Prof Aliyu Idris urges Igalas to embrace community devt

The Abeneche Ata Igala, Professor Aliyu Idris, PhD, FCA, has called on Igala sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora, to step up their collaboration and support towards the sustainable development of the kingdom.

Prof Aliyu Idris made the call at Idah after his coronation as the Abeneche Ata Igala.

He assured the Ata Igala that the honour and elevation as a traditional title holder in Igala kingdom will spur him to continue his selfless humanitarian service for Igala people both at home and in the diaspora.

Prof. Idris restated his resolve and readiness to work closely with the Ata Igala for the peace, progress and development of Igala land.

Earlier, the Ata Igala, HRM, Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa, encouraged Chief, Aliyu, to attach importance to the development of their communities by prioritising peace, unity and development of Igala kingdom.

According to him, the honour was not only a recognition of past achievements but also a call to higher service as well as a charge for sustained upholding of the values of excellent leadership and service to to the people.

He said the honour was in recognition of his distinguished service, intellectual excellence, professional integrity and steadfast commitment to the advancement of society.
