Chief Morris Vunobolki throws hat into Adamawa Governorship Race

Chief Morris Vunobolki, has joined the Adamawa state governorship race, calling for the All Progressive Congress (APC), unity to boost 2027 chances.

Chief Vunobolki, who made the declaration on Tuesday, at the Yobi Conference Centre, Yola the state capital, drew supporters from the 21 Local Government Areas, including political associates, stakeholders, youths and Women groups.

The aspirant who emphasised on the need for unity within the APC, urge party members to work collectively to strengthen the party’s chances in the upcoming elections. “Only a united front can ensure victory and bring about the desired transformation in the state”.

Addressing the crowed, Vunobolki reiterated the need for purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and accelerated development across all sectors of the state.

The aspirant highlighted key priority areas including economic revitalization, infrastructure development, education, healthcare delivery and youth empowerment, noting that Adamawa possesses vast human and natural resources that must be effectively harnessed.

Political observers, opined that Vunobolki’s entry into the race, introduces a new dynamic into the contest, particularly within the APC, where the battle for the party’s ticket is expected to be keenly contested among several aspirants.

Stakeholders at the occasion also expressed optimism over his candidacy, describing him as a seasoned leader with the capacity to drive development and provide effective governance. However, analysts noted that the road to securing the APC ticket will require strategic alliances, grassroots mobilization, and strong political backing.

Following this new development, the race toward the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State, is gradually taking shape, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense and closely watched political contest.

Vunobolki, is the first to brake the jinx among several others, to declare his intention for the contest for Adamawa state Dogirei House (Governorship) in the state.
