From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Egbewole, has felicitated with Muslim faithful within the institution and across the globe on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, urging them to uphold the values imbibed during the holy month.

In a statement released by the university’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described Eid-el-Fitri as a moment of gratitude and reflection, noting that not all who began the fasting period were alive to witness its conclusion.

According to him, “the occasion calls for celebration, particularly in view of the fact that so many of those that started the Ramadan fast did not live to witness the end.”

Egbewole charged Muslims to continue demonstrating discipline, piety and generosity in their daily interactions, stressing that the lessons of Ramadan should not end with the fasting period but remain a guiding principle in their lives.

The Vice Chancellor reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence among people of different religious and cultural backgrounds, assuring stakeholders that the university would sustain its tradition of academic excellence and continue producing graduates capable of making meaningful contributions to society.

Egbewole added that the university remains focused on delivering quality services while strengthening its role as a centre of unity and professional development.
