INEC promotes 2,339 officers in 2025 Senior Staff Promotion Exercise

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has approved the promotion of 2,339 staff members as part of its 2025 Senior Staff Promotion Exercise.

The decision which was taken at the Commission’s meeting held on February 26, 2026; is in line with the new Chairman’s commitments towards encouraging productivity and Professionalism.

The promotions include 45 Deputy Directors who were elevated to the rank of Directors, 91 Assistant Directors promoted to Deputy Directors, and 82 Chief Officers advancing to Assistant Directors. Additionally, 2,121 intermediate officers across various departments were promoted.

INEC Chairman Professor Joash Amupitan,  congratulated the newly promoted officers, urging them to maintain professionalism and integrity in their new roles.

The promotion exercise reflects INEC’s commitment to career progression, institutional continuity, and organizational stability, particularly as the Commission prepares for forthcoming electoral engagements.
