The panel is tasked with coordinating humanitarian support and addressing the needs of affected residents.
According to Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, the committee will be chaired by Hon. Ahmed Kiwozi, a former lawmaker from Kaiama Local Government Area.
Other members include Aisha Sadiq, Vice Chairman of the Local Government Council; Alhaji Abubakar Mora; Woro Village Head Alhaji Umar Bio Saliu; as well as representatives from the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), and a female representative from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
Rafiu Ajakaye stated that the committee, which has a four-week timeline to complete its work, “will engage community leaders on rebuilding efforts, identify the needs of survivors, and address any outstanding issues to ensure support reaches those affected.”
