Governor Ododo weds off sister in colourful ceremony

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has given out his younger sister, Safinat Ododo in marriage to her heathrob, Abdulmumuni Omuya, in a colourful wedding held at the Ohinoyi’s Palace in Okene recently.

Former Miss Safinat Odoodo, who happens to be the last born of the Ododo family, was raised and trained by Governor Ahmed Usman Odoodo.

The wedding Fatiha and reception showcased unity, hospitality and culture as it brought people from diverse backgrounds and endeavours together under an atmosphere of joy as they shared in the happiness of the Ododo family.

Some of the notable dignitaries include the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Comr. Joel Salifu, Deputy Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Comfort Enwuchola Egwaba, State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhjia Abdullahi Bello.

Others include some members of the House of Representatives; State Accountant General, Hajia Habibat Tijani, political leaders, traditional rulers, and a host of other dignitaries.

 

In his address to the couple, Former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who was the Chairman of the occasion, advised the couple to always allow God take centre stage in every decisions of their marriage in order for them to build a stable and enduring home.

Alhaji Bello gave the advice during the wedding reception of Abdulmumuni Omuya and Sefinat Ododo, held at the Palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, HRM, Alhaji Tijani Anaje.

 

Speaking further, Alhaji Bello urged the newly wedded couple to embrace patience, mutual understanding, and hard work as essential ingredients for a successful marriage.

He emphasised that a peaceful home would provide a solid foundation for raising responsible and God-fearing children.

The former governor commended the family of Governor Ododo for raising a well-cultured and disciplined sister, describing the bride as a product of proper upbringing and one with the fear of God.

He noted that the Ododo family is blessed with notable sons and daughters who are ready to make positive impact in the society.

Alhaji Bello also praised Governor Ododo for what he described as his commitment to governance, noting that the governor has continued to consolidate on the legacies of past administrations for the progress of Kogi State.

On his part, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State , Comrade Joel Salifu, congratulated the families, describing the bride as a virtuous woman from a prestigious home. Just as he charged the groom to cherish his wife, protect his home from third-party interference, and build a loving, progressive, and enviable marriage.

He spoke on behalf of Governor Ododo, who was the chief host of the occasion and described the marriage as blessed and God-ordained . Adding that it was a union brought together by the will of Almighty Allah.

The Deputy Governor concluded by praying that the union would be filled with peace and that the couple would always have cause to thank Almighty Allah for a successful marital life.

In his goodwill message, the Ohinoyi of Ebira Land, HRM, Alhaji Tijani Anaje, encouraged the couple to see each other as lifelong companions and partners.

He urged them to prioritize love, respect, and understanding in their union, while offering prayers for God’s blessings, wisdom, and prosperity upon their marriage.

The event was further marked by goodwill messages, prayers, and celebration.
