The United States of America (U.S), Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth has said that his country would work aggressively to bring to an end the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

He made this known in a post on X on Friday, while sharing an update after meeting with Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Mr Nuhu Ribadu, and his delegation.

According to him, “Yesterday, I met with Nigeria’s National Security Advisor and his team to discuss the horrific violence against Christians in their country,” Hegseth tweeted.

Nigeria’s delegation comprised the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Olasunkami Fagbemi.
