Nigeria’s former Military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, will be leading other anointed men of God to pray for the country at the Nigeria Prays, North Central Zone Prayer Rally in Lokoja, Kogi State capital on Sunday, 26th October, 2025.

General Gowon, who is the Convener of the Prayer Rally, according to a statement by the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, Bishop Olukayode Ajibade, will be physically present at the event.

Bishop Ajibade re-affirmed that the Prayer Rally, will start at 3:00pm and will hold at the Crowther Memorial Church, Lokoja.

The Prayer Rally with the theme: “And God Remembered”, is aimed at seeking the face of God for the country and bring together men and women, who will stand in the gap for Nigeria.

Bishop Ajibade, said Christians across denominations have been fully mobilised for the Prayer Rally, noting that praying for one’s country in bad or good times, is a responsibility no one should shy away from.

He added that, “if you pray for the good of your country and your country is doing good, you will benefit from the good of the land. As a people, we should always see it as our duty to pray for Nigeria.”

Bishop Ajibade further emphasised that through the Prayer Rally, God is set to visit Nigeria and do a new thing in the country.

He added that no challenge is insurmountable, explaining that the country might be facing serious socio-economic and political challenges but these challenges, he maintained, are not beyond what God can handle.

The cleric expressed optimism that after the prayer, positive things will begin to happen in Kogi State in particular and Nigeria in general.
