Gov Ododo hosts AGF Lateef Fagbemi, SAN,

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Thursday, received the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Lokoja.

Receiving the AGF on behalf of the Governor, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Salifu, expressed delight at the visit, describing it as an honour to the government and people of the State.

In a Press Statement by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Unubi Emmanuel, Comrade Salifu, praised Chief Fagbemi for his distinguished service to the nation, noting that as the Attorney General of the Federation, he represents hope for the common Nigerian.

He commended the Minister for his leadership role in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, particularly in the recent works of the Presidential Pardon Committee which he chaired, granting clemency to deserving individuals both living and deceased.

He prayed for God’s continued guidance and strength for the AGF in his service to the nation, while wishing him a successful program in the state.

Earlier, Chief Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, thanked Governor Ododo and the government of Kogi State for their hospitality, noting that he was in the state to deliver a lecture at the Federal University, Lokoja.

He commended the Governor for his commitment to good governance and development across the state, describing the reception accorded him as warm and befitting.

Chief Fagbemi further prayed for continued peace and unity among leaders for the collective progress of Kogites and Nigerians. “May God Almighty join us together more than we are for the benefit of Kogites and Nigerians” he added.
