Kogi State Commissioner of Information, Kingsley Fanwo, has described the numerous projects embarked upon at the rural areas, by Governor Ahmed Usman Odoodo, as part of the transformative steps in improving the lives of rural residents and balancing infrastructural development across the state.
The Graphic Newspaper, reports that kogi State Government, is recording significant strides in road infrastructure with the ongoing construction of 10 kilometers road in each Local Government Area, remodeling of over 256 primary health care facilities across the state as well as the renovation and construction of educational facilities across the state.
Speaking with newsmen during the tour of these projects recently, Fanwo emphasised on the policy of current government, to take development to the rural areas just as he pointed out that the Media tour is aimed at showcasing the remarkable infrastructural development recorded by the Governor Ododo’s led administration.

Fanwo dislosed that several projects have been completed while many more are ongoing. Explaining that the road projects would enhance accessibility and connectivity within the rural areas.
He urged the beneficiaries to imbibe the culture of protecting government projects in their various communities and assured them of government continued efforts to transform the rural communities.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Works, Engineer Mohammed Yusuf, disclosed that the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency (KOGROMA), is mandated by the Governor to construct 10 kilometers of road in every LGA, adding that most of the roads are at various stages of completion.
Engr Yusuf pointed out that the road projects would be completed immediately after the raining season.
Another highlight of the tour was the inspection of the Kabba gully erosion control and reclamation project at Omogbo, Kabba/Bunu under the ACReSAl and the GYB Model Science Secondary School project at Okebukun, in Kabba.
The media tour also visited the Kogi State University, Kabba, where the Vice Chancellor, Professor Temitope Eniola, described the university as one of the fastest growing university in the country. Some of the projects inspected in the school include, a completed administrative building, male and female hostels as well as the renovated mass communication and Theatre Arts Department.
At Ankpa, the Commissioner for Works , Engr. Mohammed Yusuf, deslosed that Governor Ododo led Administration’s intervention, through erosion control and road projects are already yielding results just as he pointed out that the construction of one -by-one metre drains that serve as effective channel to control erosion in Ankpa and it’s environs.
