JSS2 student wins Gold for Kwara in Para Powerlifting at National Youth Games

Kwara State, shone brightly at the ongoing 9th National Youth Games in Asaba, as a young talent, Adebayo Busayo, powered his way to victory in the Para Powerlifting event.

Ridwan, a JSS2 student of Government Day Secondary School, Ojagboro, stunned spectators by lifting 71kg to claim the gold medal, outclassing his rivals in grand style.

Speaking after his triumph, the youngster expressed gratitude to his coach, Mr. Oladipo Omole, for his guidance and encouragement. “My coach believed in me and pushed me to do more, not just in sports but in life,” Ridwan said.

He dedicated the medal to his late parents, adding that his dream is to represent Nigeria on the global stage in future competitions.

In the female category, another promising star from Team Kwara, Abdulkareem Muibat, of Abata Babaoyo Junior Secondary School, won bronze after lifting 41kg.

The victories add to Kwara’s growing medal tally, bringing pride and excitement to the state’s contingent at the Games.
