From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

Residents of Osin Okete in Ilorin West Local Government Area, were thrown into panic on Monday when fire broke out at an Airtel network mast site in the community.

The incident, which occurred around 1:27 pm, affected a generator stationed at the facility before firefighters arrived to prevent the blaze from spreading.

The Kwara State Fire Service, confirmed that its operatives battled the inferno and successfully brought it under control by 2:04 pm. Their swift intervention ensured that the mast and surrounding installations were not completely destroyed.
