Bye-election: 2 Senators, 5 Reps receive certificate of return from INEC

Two Senators and Five House of Representatives, received certificates of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Abuja on Thursday.

The two Senators are, Mr. Nwachukwu Emmanuel Chibuzor of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), who is the winner of the Anambra South Senatorial District bye-election on the 16th of August, 2025; and Mr Ikpea Joseph Igiagbe, Senator-elect for Edo Central who won under the platform of APC.

Likewise, five other Lawmakers from the House of Representatives were also presented certificates of return. They are, Igbinedion Omosede Gabriella, House of Representatives member-elect for Ovia Southwest and Mukhtar Rabiu Garki, who is the winner of the Bubura/Garki constituency in Jigawa State, and Joseph Bagudu, representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State all of  the All Progressives Congress.

Others are, Elegbeji Adesola Yetunde Ayoola, representing Ikene/Shagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency in Ogun State, and Oyekunle Fola Sunday, elected for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, both from the APC.

The presentation ceremony took place at the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, August 21, 2025 were National Commissioners of the Commission were present.
