Hon. Major Enefola, Chairman House Committee on Security, Vigilante and Home Affairs, is optimistic that the 2025 Budget proposal will meet the needs of the security sector in Kogi State.

He expressed this confidence during the 2025 Budget Defense of the security sector at the Kogi State House of Assembly complex in Lokoja.

The lawmaker who is the member representing Igalamela Odolu State Constituency, said the budget defense which is one of the important legislative duties, is crucial in determining the income and expenditure of the security and Vigilante sector.

He emphasised that the exercise is not about fault-finding but focused on ensuring that allocations to various departments, security agencies, and vigilante groups meet their respective mandates and drive meaningful development that promotes security.

Hon. Enefola also highlighted the importance of security in Kogi State, citing the incident at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osare, where students were kidnapped.

He praised the swift intervention of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, which led to the resolution of the crisis.

The lawmaker urged citizens to support efforts to ensure security, emphasising that security is a top priority for excellence in Kogi State.

He also appreciated the deputy speaker and his colleagues for their collaborative efforts in presenting the budget and discharging their duties.
