The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), in collaboration with the representatives of the chosen universities of the underage candidates, who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has adjusted the final date for their scheduled assessment.
JAMB Spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, announced the development in a statement.
“It is worthy of note that NECO has released its SSCE 2025 results on Wednesday, 17th September, 2025, the Board has noted with concern that at the close of the sion date for the screening scores, which was 15th September, 2025, 23 out of the 71 universities chosen by the candidates are yet to submit the Post-UTME screening scores of these candidates as agreed” the statement added.
He listed the universities, University Of Lagos, Lagos State with 39 candidates, Nile University Of Nigeria, Abuja, FCT with 18 candidates, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State with 15 candidates, University Of Abuja, Gwagwalada, Abuja, FCT with 12 candidates, University Of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State with 9 candidates, Federal University Of Technology, Owerri, Imo State with 8 candidates and David Umahi Federal University Of Health Sciences, Uburu, Ebonyi State with 6 candidates.
Others were, University Of Calabar, Calabar, Cross River State with 6 candidates, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State with 5 candidates, Bingham University, Karu, Nasarawa State withb 3 candidates, Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State with 2 candidates, Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State with 2 candidates and Mcpherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State with 2 candidates.
Also, Abia State University, Uturu, Abia State with 1 candidate, Bayelsa Medical University, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State with 1 candidate, Claretian University, Nekede, Imo State with 1 candidate, Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, Delta State with 1 candidate, Federal University Of Technology, Ikot-abasi, Akwa Ibom State with 1 candidate, Michael Okpara University Of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State with 1 candidate, Modibbo Adama University, Yola, Adamawa State with 1 candidate and Rhema University, Aba, Abia State with 1 candidate. A total of 135 Candidates.
The JAMB Spokesperson further stated that, “by this press release and emails sent to these defaulting universities, they are urged to submit their screening scores without further delay.
“Furthermore, the Board wishes to remind all public universities to submit their recommended candidates on CAPS on or before Tuesday, 30th September 2025, while all private universities are to submit their recommendations on or before Friday, 31st October 2025”.
This, he said was to ensure that the deadlines of 30th October 2025, for public universities, and 31st November 2025, for private universities are achieved.
“These dates are sacrosanct as decided at the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions under the chairmanship of the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa”, Benjamin said.
