Six secondary schools have advanced to the grand finale of the 2025 Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) Tax Club Quiz Competition, following the successful conclusion of the semi-final stage held recently.

A statement signed by the Head of Corporate Affairs, KW-IRS, Funmilola Oguntunbi, revealed that the competition, which aims to promote tax education and compliance among young people, is being organised in partnership with the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.

The semi-final stage was conducted through an online Computer-Based Test (CBT), involving 12 schools, all monitored virtually by the KW-IRS Tax Club Advocacy Committee and representatives from the Ministry of Education, including Mrs Idayat Alaya and Mrs Bose Aina.

According to the statement, the finalists will compete for the grand prize of N2.5 million during the final round scheduled to take place in Ilorin on November 6, 2025.

KW-IRS noted that the annual quiz competition is part of its efforts to instill tax consciousness among students and encourage them to become responsible citizens who understand the role of taxation in nation-building.

“The initiative is designed to nurture a generation of tax-conscious individuals who will contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Kwara State and Nigeria at large,” the statement added.
