The Kwara State University (KWASU) Alumni Association, has elected Yusuf Danshitta, as its new National President.
Danshitta emerged President recently at a keenly contested election held in the KWASU Business School, ilorin.
According to a report signed by the Chairman of the 2024 KWASU Alumni Electoral Committee, Abdulkadir Abdulbaki, Danshitta, who is from the Department of Library and Information Science, secured 33 votes to clinch the presidency.
Other members of the newly elected executive council include Samuel Taiwo as Vice President (South), Abdulwasiu Alabi as National General Secretary, Tajudeen Adeleye as Financial Secretary, Jesutofunmi Adewoye as National Treasurer, and Abimbola Babajide as National Social Secretary. Felicity Oni Ifashe and Abdulazeez Abbas Olayinka were also elected as National Legal Adviser and Assistant General Secretary, respectively.
In his statement, Abdulbaki, commended the smooth and efficient conduct of the election process, emphasising that all stakeholders adhered strictly to the established guidelines.
“The election was conducted seamlessly, and the participation of alumni members showcased the unity and commitment of the KWASU Alumni Association,” he said.
The chairman congratulated the newly elected officers and expressed appreciation to all alumni members who actively took part in the process, highlighting their dedication to strengthening the association’s mission.
