The Elulu of Mopa and Chairman of the Mopamuro Local Government Area Traditional Council, HRM, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, has called on residents of Iyara community in Ijumu LGA to embrace unity for the progress of the area.
Speaking as the Special Royal Guest at the 2024 lyara Cultural Day held at the weekend,Oba Ibeun stressed that Mopamuro and Ijumu’s shared boundaries create a unique bond, which both communities should leverage for mutual development.
Expressing appreciation for the warm welcome, Oba Ibeun lauded the unity and the coordination displayed by the people of lyara and Ijumu.
He congratulated his counterparts, the Olujumu of Ijumu, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni, and the Eleta Ougara of yara, Oba Jacob Meduteni, for organizing the cultural celebration.
The Elulu emphasised that unity was the foundation for peace and progress, while urging all stakeholders to strive for the collective good of okun land and kogi state.
Oba Ayeni echoed these statements, thanking the lyara Cultural Day committee for the effort in organizing a vibrant and successful event.
He noted that only through unity could the community achieve such success. The event’s chairman, State Security Adviser Commander, Jerry Duro Omodara, also urged the Okun people to remain vigilant and support state government’s efforts to combat crime.
He praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administation for its conmittment to ensuring security across Kogi State, urging citizens to be active in safeguarding the communities.
