The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has arrested 44 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in various locations across Ilorin, Kwara State.
According to a statement by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity for the EFCC, the arrests were made recently at Sango, Kulende, Taxaco, and Harmony Estate in Ilorin following credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in cybercrime.
“Items recovered from the suspects include six exotic cars, laptops, smartphones, and charms. The suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded,” the statement read.
This comes just two days after the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the EFCC apprehended 56 other suspected internet fraudsters in a similar crackdown.
