A Wake keep was held during the series of events to honor her memory. Other activities include a Funeral Mass at Gadumo.

Fondly called Mummy in her community, the remains of Mrs. Alabi were laid to rest at Adankolo Cemetery recently.

Mrs. Alabi, a member of Arch Angel Catholic Church, Gadumo, passed away on April 22nd after a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations.

As a community leader and retired civil servant, Mrs. Alabi dedicated her life to public service, working tirelessly with the Kogi State Ministry of Works, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Pension Board as Director of Administration and Finance.

Her passion, discipline, and grace earned her respect and admiration from colleagues and the community.

Even in retirement, Mrs. Alabi’s sense of purpose only deepened.

She remained actively engaged in community development and youth empowerment through various organizations, holding leadership roles in Jamiyar Matan Arewa, the Scout Association of Nigeria, the Nigeria Girls Guard Association, Police Community Relation Committee, Lecturers Association, Church Security Unit, and Catholic Laity Council.

Born on August 28, 1948, into the noble Omadivi Family of Obeiba in Ihima, Mrs. Alabi was raised in Owo, Ondo State, with values that shaped her life’s work.

She is survived by her two daughters, in-laws, grandchildren, and sisters, each a testament to her legacy of love, strength, and dedication.

Speaking on behalf of her children, Mrs. Jummai paid tribute to her mother’s unwavering strength, deep faith, and loving discipline.

“Our mother single-handedly raised us with unshakeable strength, deep faith, and loving discipline,” she said. “We were raised not only with care but with values that shaped our lives – dignity, service, integrity, and humanity.”

Mrs. Alabi’s remarkable life serves as a shining example of dedication, compassion, and service. May her legacy continue to inspire and motivate future generations.
