From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

A prominent legal practitioner and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barrister Debo Aderibigbe, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as transformative and courageous leadership in his first two years in office.

He also commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for six years of what he called visionary and impactful governance in Kwara State.

Speaking on behalf of the Barrister Adebayo Reps Project and the Kwara Advancement Forum, Aderibigbe, described President Tinubu, as “a high achiever, an unapologetic reformist and a resilient administrator,” who has taken decisive steps to reset Nigeria’s economic foundation through bold policies and people-focused projects.

He highlighted key achievements under the Tinubu administration, including improved government revenue by over 76 percent without increasing tax rates, a significant drop in the debt-to-revenue ratio, repayment of a $3.4 billion IMF loan, and increased crude oil output to 1.61 million barrels per day, attracting foreign direct investments worth $500 million and $5 billion.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan,” Aderibigbe said. “It is being felt across all sectors of the economy; education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and youth empowerment. From the reintroduction of student loans and technical college grants to massive road and railway projects, President Tinubu is laying a strong foundation for Nigeria’s future.”

He also praised initiatives such as the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), scheme aimed at reducing transportation costs, the mass housing projects under Renewed Hope Cities, and the release of N570 billion to states to cushion the impact of global economic challenges.

On the President’s recent push for local government autonomy, Aderibigbe said, “This is a necessary step for sustainable grassroots development and it will help address the growing rural-urban migration.”

Turning to state affairs, Barrister Aderibigbe congratulated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his deputy, Mr. Kayode Alabi, on what he described as six years of “fiscal prudence, infrastructure transformation and inclusive governance.”

He listed major achievements of the AbdulRazaq administration, including the recruitment of thousands of teachers, settlement of pension arrears, improvement of healthcare facilities, expansion of rural and urban roads, and the launch of the Smart City and Digital Innovation Hub initiatives.

“Governor AbdulRazaq’s impact is evident in every part of Kwara. His commitment to education, grassroots development, and security has turned the state into a model of progressive governance,” Aderibigbe stated.

He added that the governor’s leadership has brought about restored fiscal stability and improved revenue generation, while ensuring that governance is inclusive of women, youths, and persons with disabilities.

“Governor AbdulRazaq has not only earned national recognition but also raised the bar for leadership across Nigeria. He represents what true service and accountability should look like,” Aderibigbe noted.

He concluded with prayers for continued health and strength for both President Tinubu and Governor AbdulRazaq, urging Nigerians to keep supporting their administrations for the greater good of the country and the continued growth of Kwara State.
