The Governor made the commendation while attending the hotel’s grand opening in Okene as a special guest.

The Governor lauded Alhaji Khalifa’s gesture of gifting the hotel to his wife, calling it a commendable example of entrepreneurship, empowerment, and family support that aligns with his administration’s values.

He added that the investment serves as a model for private sector initiatives complementing government efforts to drive economic development and uplift communities.

“This venture is a demonstration of faith in the economic potential of Kogi State,” he said.

The Governor promised that his administration would continue to reposition the state’s economy through strategic partnerships, infrastructure development, and creating a favorable business environment statewide.

He emphasised the government’s determination to eliminate bureaucratic obstacles and simplify procedures to attract local and foreign investors.

The Governor highlighted ongoing initiatives, including a 3,000-hectare Special Economic Zone in Ajaokuta with China’s partnership, a proposed international airport in Zariagi, an ultra-modern market in Lokoja, and major road infrastructure projects linking rural and agricultural areas, as strategic moves to establish the state as a prime investment destination.

The Governor announced plans to accelerate rural electrification to boost local industries and continue investing in healthcare and education to enhance citizens’ quality of life.

He also warned traditional rulers against unauthorised land sales and issuance of consent documents, cautioning that those involved would face legal consequences.

The Governor urged Kogi citizens, both at home and abroad, to support the state’s economic vision by investing in projects that foster inclusive growth, enterprise development, and community well-being.
