The Kogi State Government has expressed shock over the demise of the Adoja Adumwoiwo, Chief Samuel Agbenyo Ukuteno.

In a statement by the Commissioner of Information and Communications, Honourable Kingsley Fanwo, the government said that it received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Chief Ukuteno, the Adoja of Adumwoiwo in Bassa Local Government Area, who joined his ancestors at the age of 75 after over 25 years on the throne.

The statement described the late Chief Ukuteno as a revered traditional ruler whose life was marked by service, wisdom, and a deep commitment to the peace and progress of his people, noting that he will be fondly remembered for his role in fostering unity and development in the Adumwoiwo community and across Bassa Local Government Area.

The statement further said, “his cooperation with the State Government on initiatives aimed at economic expansion and peaceful coexistence in his domain was exemplary and impactful. He served as a bridge between tradition and development, ensuring that the cultural values of his people were upheld while embracing progressive governance and modern civilization.

“He will be sorely missed at a time when the State Government values his knowledge and commitment to ensuring peace and unity across the State. History will remember him as a patriotic leader and a traditional ruler who extended his focus beyond cultural preservation to promote unity and drive economic prosperity among his people.”
