The Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir Maikarfi 1V, has conferred on the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Engineer Sagir Abdulsalam, the traditional title of “Tafarkin Lokoja” in recognition of his immense contribution to the rapid development of the Lokoja emirate council.
In a letter of appointment signed by the Royal father, he expressed appreciation to the Permanent Secretary and branch Chairman of ABU Alumni, for his selfless service to humanity and encouraged him to view the traditional title as an opportunity to further the development of both the emirate and the state.
The letter read in part thus: “Considering your enormous wealth of experience, hard work, dedication, unwavering commitments to issues that affect Lokoja, your general exposure to circumstances of life and above all your outstanding performance in the affairs of the growth and development of Lokoja township, I am elated and most delighted to confer on you the prestigious and revered traditional title of Tafarkin of Lokoja, in exercise of the power conferred on me as the Maigarin Lokoja and Chairman Lokoja Emirate Council.
“You are by this appointment, a member of Lokoja Traditional Title Holders Council and henceforth, your traditional official greetings shall be “DAUDU”.
“This happy development is the ultimate reward for your selfless sacrifice, devotion to a cause and the climax of a worthy capping of a glorious career.
“I am very proud of your track records and also rejoice with you as you celebrate the pinnacle of an enviable achievement. Do accept my most sincere congratulations and best wishes.”
In his reaction, Engr. Abdulsalam, appreciated the Maigari for the recognition, saying that, the title is not only a personal honour but also a call to service, reflecting the trust and confidence the emirate has in his abilities.
He promised to be dedicated and loyal to the emirate, pledging to work hard in promoting the welfare of Lokoja community.
