From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The Kwara State Police Command, has debunked claims that fleeing bandits from Zamfara State, have infiltrated Bani town in Kaiama Local Government Area, urging residents to disregard the rumors.

Reacting to the reports, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, dismissed the allegations as baseless and designed to incite fear.

“There is no intelligence or operational report indicating the presence of armed bandits in Bani or anywhere in Kwara State,” she said. “These rumors are being spread by mischief makers to create unnecessary panic.”

The Commissioner of Police, CP Victor Olaiya, reassured residents that security agencies remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding lives and property across the state.
