From Taiye Joseph Ilorin.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s leadership, has transformed Kwara State in ways never seen before, setting a record unmatched by his predecessors, according to Professor Saudat AbdulBaqi.

Speaking at a personality lecture held in AbdulRazaq’s honour, in Ilorin, Kwara State, the university don, highlighted the governor’s strides in infrastructure, economic development, and governance inclusivity.

The event, organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council, and sponsored by NNPCL’s Non-Executive Director, Dr. Muhammed Alaya, brought together legal luminaries, political figures, journalists, and APC stalwarts.

“Kwara was lagging behind in infrastructural development, but this administration has rewritten the narrative. The transformation of roads, urban renewal projects, improved waste management, and commitment to workers’ welfare are remarkable,” AbdulBaqi said.

She emphasised the governor’s inclusive governance, noting that his administration accommodates all segments of society.

“Men and women, young and old, people with and without disabilities all have a sense of belonging in this government,” she stated.

The don also lauded AbdulRazaq’s financial prudence, particularly his efforts in managing the state’s debt profile and increasing revenue generation.

“He inherited abandoned projects but completed them instead of turning Kwara into a graveyard of uncompleted works,” she added. Urging the administration to ensure continuity of its policies beyond 2027.

Representing the governor, Senior Adviser and Counselor Alhaji Saadu Salahu appreciated the NUJ for recognising the administration’s impact.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustainable development and its cordial relationship with the press.

Former Grand Kadi, Justice Salihu Muhammed, praised the governor’s silent but significant achievements.

“His impact is felt across sectors, even beyond what is reported,” he remarked. Highlighting the recent approval of full gratuity payments to retired judges and Kadis.

Chairman of the event, Engineer Abdulrahman Giwa, described AbdulRazaq as a “silent achiever” whose developmental projects speak for themselves.

NUJ Chairman Ahmed Abdullateef, added that the event was not just to celebrate the governor’s successes but to set an agenda for future leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.
