“The significance of today is that we must never forget those that held us together. We must not forget their families,” the Governor said while addressing reporters after visiting war veterans at a state-funded medical pavilion for members of the Nigerian Legion.

“We should continue to pray for Nigeria to have peace, harmony, and improved security.”

The event attracted notable dignitaries, including the Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Abiodun Adebara; heads of security agencies; Deputy Speaker of the Kwara House of Assembly, Hon. Ojo Olayiwole; Commissioner for Social Development, Hon. Bosede Olaitan Buraimo; and representative of the Emir of Ilorin, Sheikh AbdulRahman Kelani.

Other attendees were retired Brigadier General Abdulkadir Anigiobi, Chairman of the Nigeria Legion in Kwara State; representatives of academic institutions, including Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Adegboyega Adisa Fawole; and Mrs. Tiamiyu Fatimo, widow of one of the fallen heroes.
