From Taiye Joseph Ilorin.

The Chief of Staff to the Kwara State Governor, Prince Abdulkadir Mahe, was laid to rest on Saturday evening, hours after his passing.

His burial, held at his Ilorin residence, drew thousands, including prominent political and religious figures.

Dignitaries at the janazah included Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi, and Grand Kadi of the Kwara State Shari’a Court of Appeal, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen.

Others are House of Representatives member, Ahmed Aluko, Mutawalli Ilorin, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, and former PDP National Chairman Alhaji Kawu Baraje, among others.

The prayer, led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Soliu, was solemn as attendees prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the late Chief of Staff, seeking his admittance into al-Jannah Firdaus.

Governor AbdulRazaq described Mahe as a stabilizing force in his administration, emphasising his invaluable contributions.

“This is a great loss. He was a stabilizing factor in our administration. He is a pillar of support for our administration. We will truly miss him. May Allah grant him Aljanat Fridaous,” the Governor said.

Governor Ododo of Kogi State, also praised Mahe’s peace-loving nature, acknowledging the vacuum his demise has created.

“He was a peace-loving personality. The entire family and the state in general will miss him. There is nothing we can say because from Him we come and unto Him we shall return. What we owe him now is prayer, and we will continue to pray for him,” Ododo remarked.

Prince Mahe, a septuagenarian, was appointed Chief of Staff on November 3, 2023, after serving as Secretary to the State Government, Permanent Secretary, and Clerk of the Kwara State House of Assembly.

His demise marks the end of a distinguished career dedicated to public service in Kwara State.
