From Taiye Joseph, Ilorin

The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Irepodun Local Government Area, Kwara State, has intensified its grassroots sensitization campaign against the dangers of the get-rich-quick syndrome, while advocating for heightened security consciousness among residents.

The campaign, led by the Chief Orientation and Mobilisation Officer, Mr. Kayode Ogunlana, saw the NOA team visiting churches, mosques, and schools across the local government area.

Among the locations visited were Owolewa Mosque in Omu-Aran, Christian Comprehensive High School in Oro, Ansarul Islam Junior Secondary School in Iludun Oro, and Oro Ward 2.

During the engagements, Mr. Ogunlana decried the growing trend of quick wealth schemes, describing them as harmful to societal stability.

He urged the youths to embrace the virtues of hard work, patience, and integrity, while cautioning against the devastating consequences of fraudulent activities.

“The get-rich-quick mentality is a dangerous trend that threatens the moral fabric of our society.

“Through this campaign, we are fostering awareness and encouraging citizens to embrace diligence, responsibility, and community security as collective priorities,”Mr. Ogunlana said.

He further appealed to parents, guardians, and religious leaders to take an active role in shaping the values of the younger generation.

The NOA team also emphasised the importance of security awareness, advising residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and work together to safeguard their neighborhood.

This sensitization initiative is part of NOA’s ongoing efforts to promote moral values, civic responsibility, and security consciousness in Irepodun LGA and other parts of Kwara State.
