Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has commissioned the office of the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State in Lokoja.

This significant milestone took place on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

The office complex of the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State had fallen into disrepair, its once-white paint now a dull brown from years of exposure to Lokoja’s harsh weather conditions, giving it a worn and neglected appearance.

Upon taking office, the Governor recognised the strategic importance of the State Government and swiftly took action.

In April 2024, a contract was awarded to Ridge Print Limited to completely remodel the SGS office complex, demonstrating the Governor’s commitment to enhancing the state’s infrastructure.

The remodelling project was carried out with great attention to detail, resulting in a fresh and modern look. The exterior of the building was painted a crisp white, while the interior was painted a soft off-white. To complete the transformation, new furniture were installed throughout the space.

During the commissioning ceremony, the Governor highlighted the crucial role of a conducive working environment in boosting service delivery among civil servants.

He noted that the remodelling project is a key part of a broader initiative aimed at elevating workplace standards across the state, ultimately enhancing productivity and employee performance.

Governor Ododo emphasised that paying monthly salaries on time is a key indicator of the government’s dedication to improving the lives of its citizens.

The Governor praised his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his foresight and commitment to driving Kogi State’s progress.

He also thanked the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SGS) for her tireless efforts, patience, and loyalty to the state.

Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade, Ph.D., the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State (SGS), thanked the Governor for commissioning the renovated office complex, expressing her gratitude for his support in enhancing the working environment.

The event drew a high-profile crowd, including members of the State Executive Council, top government officials, and civil servants, all of whom played important roles in the state’s governance.
