Kogi Assembly screens, confirms 21 nominees as LG secretaries

Kogi State House of Assembly on Tuesday screened and confirmed 21 nominees to serve as Secretaries in the Local Government Areas of the state.

The screening and confirmation was conducted at plenary, after a question and answer session at the Assembly complex in Lokoja.

The nominees include, Umar Muhammed Bako, (kogi/Koton-Karfe), Abubakar Danjuma Mohammed (Lokoja), Hon Anibasa Ovavi Muhammed (Adavi), Yakini Salihu Abebe (Okene), Mrs Yetunde Olaoye (Ijumu), Momohsanni Salami (Ajaokuta) and Hon Abdullah Salihu Ali (Bassa).

Others are Friday Fadipe (Ogori/Magongo), Hon Daniel Tope David (Mopamuro), Mr Mohammed Edicha (Igalamela/Odolu), Mrs Grace Paka Ogala (Idah), Hon Salihu Muhammed (Dekina), Hon Ojo Martins Sunday, (Kabba/Bunu) and Idoga Moses (Ofu).

The list also includes ; Joseph Oyibo (Omala), Hon Musa Kareem (Yagba East), Hon Ibrahim Muhammed (Ankpa), Hon Gbenga Enoch (Yagba West), Hon Abraham Mora (Ibaji), Hon Samuel Idenyi (Olamaboro) and Lawal Adeiza Ayo (Okehi).

Kogi Speaker, Rt. Honourable Aliyu Umar Yusuf charged the nominees to strive to enhance the welfare of grassroots dwellers by promoting programs and policies that would transform their areas.

He also highlighted the need to attach priority to their assignments while emphasising that they would serving as representatives of members of the 8th Assembly who are part of these communities and constituencies.

The nominees used the forum appreciated Governor Ahmad Usman Ododo for giving them the privilege to compliment his vision of enhancing rural development and unity across the various local government councils.
