Idah Forum donates medical supplies to strengthen PHCs

Idah forum, Lokoja chapter, recently donated medical supplies to two Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs), in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The PHCs include Owoli-Apa and Igalaogba PHCs.

While handing over the supplies to the PHCs, President of the forum, Rotarian Iliyasu Shuaibu, said, the gesture was part of the forums community service to the area.

“This is part of our commitment to strengthen the healthcare system, by donating medical supplies to the PHCs and contributing our quota to the wel-being of our people at the grassroots.

“The importance of adequate medical supplies cannot be over-emphasised, especially with the recent economic realities,” he stated.

According to him, the medical supplies will not only provide tools for health personnels, but will go a long way to improve Healthcare services to patients.

Speaking to The Graphic, Iliyasu who is the 13th President of the organisation, said the non-political forum of over 80 members, is an association of like minds, comprising of sons and daughters of four LGAs namely: Idah, Ibaji, Igalamela and Ofu, who put their resources together to help their immediate communities.

The annual donation he added, also include donation of writing materials to public primary schools in the four LGAs.

He disclosed that the forum, also supports its members when the need arises. “Charity begins at home. The welfare of our members is paramount. We support ourselves in various ways,” he said.

The supplies was received by the matrons-in- charge of the PHCs for the use of the public.
