The Chairman of Kogi Local Government Area, Honourable Musa Abdulmalik, says the area remains peaceful and intact for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Honourable Musa made the remark on Monday while receiving the Workplace Security Campaign team, led by the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka.

He described the sensitisation as apt, relevant and result oriented, saying the Governor’s track record speaks for itself, emphasising that one good term deserves another.

The Council Chairman commended the Special Adviser and his team for embarking on such a rigorous campaign across the State, and thanked the Governor for approving the programme.

“This visit is the first of its kind, looking at the calibre of former and present Labour leaders who are really committed to the growth of the State. I can see strong support for Governor Ododo, I am grateful indeed and there is no doubt that Kogi local government is a family Local Government and stands firm with Ododo and President Tinubu”, Hon. Musa added.

In his speech, the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Chairman in the area, Comrade Yakubu Mohammed, praised Governor Ododo for his welfare programmes for the workforce, saying they were absolutely behind the Governor’s re-election and that of the President.

Comrade Mohammed who passed a vote of confidence on the Governor, commended the Governor for appointing Comrade Onuh Edoka as Special Adviser and other former labour leaders into various positions.

While addressing the workers, Kogi State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Gabriel Amari, appealed to them not to be deceived by desperate politicians, stressing that Governor Ododo has done enough to justify re-election, particularly for the workers.

The team leader, Comrade Onuh Edoka who gave tips on security at the workplace, enjoined them to always make their destinations known to their colleagues as well as avoid enmity among neighbours.

He charged them to consider their past and now with a view to making decisions that will better their future, emphasising that job security is key.

Comrade Edoka thanked the Council Chairman for his humility and exemplary performance as demonstrated through his personal presence to receive the team and assured him of the continued support of the workers.
