The Grand Kadi, Kogi State Shariah Court, Justice Abdulkareem Aruwa, has called on residents of the state and all Nigerians to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Maulud to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood irrespective of their religious or ethnic differences.
He equally urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of compassion, honesty and patience while emphasising the need to be security-conscious at all times.
Felicitating the Muslim Ummah in a message on the Eid-el-Maulud 144AH/2026 celebration in Lokoja, the Grand Kadi, called on residents of the state to sustain peaceful coexistence among one another irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
“On the blessed occasion of Eid-el-Maulud 1448AH/2026, I extend my warm felicitations to the entire Muslim Ummah in Kogi State and beyond as we commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).”

The Grand Kadi advised Muslims to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad whose life remains a perfect model of honesty, patience, compassion and peaceful coexistence, urging them to reflect on these virtues by allowing them to guide their daily lives, interactions and relationships.
Justice Abdulkareem also used the occasion to call on residents of Kogi State and beyond to embrace peaceful coexistence, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, as well as well remain security conscious for a safer society.
“I call on all residents of Kogi State and beyond to strengthen peaceful coexistence, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences, and to remain security-conscious. Let us also remember the poor, orphans, widows and the less privileged, as one of the best way to honour the Prophet is to extend charity and kindness to those in need ” the statement further added.
He also admonished the muslim faithful to extend support to the poor, orphans, widows and the less privileged around them, which he said was one of the best ways to honour the Prophet.
The Grand Kadi also appealed to Muslims to use the occasion to offer special prayers for Kogi State and Nigeria at large for peace, unity, economic progress, as well as divine guidance for leaders at all levels.
“I urge us all to offer special prayers for Kogi State and Nigeria: for peace, unity, economic progress and divine guidance for our leaders at all levels. May Allah accept our worship, unite our communities, and bless our State and Nation.” he equally encouraged Nigerians.
Justice Aruwa used the medium to commend the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his human-centre style of leadership and religious tolerance, and prayed Allah to reward him abundantly.
He then congratulated Muslim Ummah on the commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet and wished them a happy celebration.
