JALINGO – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Chief David Sabo Kente, popularly known as DSK, has said he will not reject the endorsement of his supporters to contest the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Kente, a former governorship aspirant, spoke in Jalingo after a group of supporters and APC loyalists, visited him to present a nomination form they had procured for him.
He told the gathering that although “the time is not now,” no one would stop him when the time is right, noting that he has “highly-rated supporters on ground” waiting for his final word.
Kente said his supporters decided to purchase the form because they were dissatisfied with the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas.
The APC chieftain, however, noted that he would consult widely with stakeholders before taking a final decision in the interest of the party.
“My consultation is still ongoing regarding the 2027 Taraba State Government House election. I have asked my supporters and APC loyalists who came to endorse me and bought the governorship form to wait a little until all pegs are put in the right holes,” Kente said.
He disclosed that he and his supporters had concluded plans to back President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, saying it would attract more federal projects to Taraba.
Kente assured Tarabans of an all-inclusive government if elected, promising to deliver dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
“Taraba is for all of us. We are going to run an all-inclusive government so as to bring dividends of democracy to the grassroots. Nobody shall be left out,” he said.
