Former National Assembly member for Dekina/Bassa constituency, Hon Tom Zakari, has been elected as the new Kogi State Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) Chairman.

In an election keenly contested by ADC delegates from the nine Local Government Areas of Kogi State, Hon Zakari polled thirty six votes to defeat his closest rival, Joe Agada, who polled twenty five votes

In a post election speech, Hon Zakari thanked all the nine Local Government Areas delegates of ADC from Kogi East for the confidence reposed on him. He assured that he will be diligent in his duties as the new Kogi State ADC Chairman.

The new Kogi State ADC Chairman called on members of the party in the state to intensify efforts in the ongoing electronic party membership registration across the country. He noted that the party is prepared to carry all members along in wrestling power from the ruling party in the country.
