Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Odoodo, has urged Nigerians to uphold the virtues of love, sacrifice and national unity as Muslims across the country mark Eid al- fitr celebration.

Governor Ododo made the call shortly after observing the two- rakat Eid prayers alongside thousands of Muslim faithfuls at the Muhammed Buhari Civic Center in Lokoja.

The prayer session also witnessed the presence of top government officials, community leaders, Islamic schoolers and residents of Lokoja who had gathered to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Governor Ododo congratulated the Muslim faithful for the successful completion of the fasting period, just as he emphasised that the sacred season should serve as a reminder of the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, humility, and unbending faith in the Almighty Allah.

The Governor described Eid-el-Fitr as a moment of deep reflection on the lessons of Ramadan: self-discipline, compassion for one another, and total submission to the will of Allah stressing that these values are critical to the collective journey toward building a more united, peaceful, and prosperous Kogi State.

According to him, his administration remains committed to improving the welfare of the people, strengthening security, and delivering on it’s campaign promises across all sectors.

“We are encouraged by your support and resilience, and we assure you that we will not relent in our efforts to justify the confidence you have reposed in us” he further added.

He urge all citizens to continue to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of Nigeria and also called for special prayers and unwavering support for President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he continues to lead the nation through critical reforms which he said are aimed at securing a brighter future for all.

“I call on all of us to use this occasion to promote love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, regardless of our religious or political differences. Together, we can build a stronger Kogi State and a greater Nigeria”. The Governor said.

On security, Governor Ododo assured residents of his administration’s commitment to a secured environment for all while reiterating that the State Government would continue to strengthen collaboration with the security agencies in the fight against insecurity across the state.

Governor Ododo also used the medium to advice politicians, most especially those seeking elective offices to engage meanifully with the grassroots so as to earn the trust of the people stressing that leadership must be people-driven.
